Young LGBTIQAN+ Leadership Workshop

จุดประสงค์

เพื่อสนับสนุนผู้นำ LGBTIQAN+ และแผนการสร้างพลังในการเคลื่อนไหวของพวกเขาในมหาวิทยาลัยท้องถิ่น เพื่อให้มหาวิทยาลัยรับผิดชอบต่อการคุ้มครองสิทธิของเยาวชน LGBTIQAN+ รวมถึงการสร้างความร่วมมือและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้นำเยาวชน

ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้

กว่า 15 คนหนุ่มสาวกลุ่ม LGBTQ+ ได้รับข้อมูล ทักษะ และเครือข่ายที่จำเป็นในการผลักดันให้ระบบการศึกษาไทยมีความรับผิดชอบต่อการปกป้องสิทธิของเยาวชน LGBTQ+ ผ่านการเวิร์คช็อป “Young LGBTIQAN+ Club Gen 3.0” ที่เชียงใหม่

โดยกิจกรรมของเวิร์คช็อปมีดังนี้

  1. ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับความท้าทายที่เยาวชน LGBTIQ+ ในประเทศไทยเผชิญ ความรู้พื้นฐานด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน ความหลากหลายทางเพศสภาพ และการตัดกันของระบบอำนาจ
  2. มีการจัดกิจกรรม Networking Night เชื่อมความสัมพันธ์กับนักกิจกรรมและตัวแทนจากองค์กรภาคประชาสังคม (CSOs) ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และสร้างความร่วมมือ โดยรุ่นพี่เยาวชนผู้นำยังได้มอบแนวคิดสำหรับการริเริ่มโครงการที่คล้ายคลึงกันในสถาบันของตนเอง
  3. มีการจัดทัศนศึกษาเพื่อเยี่ยมชมองค์กรภาคประชาสังคมในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือและการพัฒนาเครือข่ายระหว่างเยาวชนผู้นำ องค์กรที่มีชื่อเสียง และนักกิจกรรมที่ทำงานด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนและประเด็นทางเพศในประเทศไทย

Objectives

To support LGBTIQAN+ leaders and a plan for building their movements in local universities to hold universities accountable for the protection of the rights of LGBTQ+ youth, as well as build collaborations and relationships among youth leaders. 

Summary

Over 15 young LGBTIQ+ participants obtained the information, skills, and networks needed to hold Thai education responsible for safeguarding the rights of LGBTQ+ youth via the “Young LGBTIQAN+ Club Gen 3.0” workshop in Chiang Mai. The workshop included the following activities. First, participants understood the challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ youth in Thailand and their basic knowledge about human rights, gender and sexuality diversity, and intersectionality. Second, the networking night with activists and representatives from CSOs in Chiang Mai shared expertise and cooperation. The youth leader alumni also gave practical ideas and tips for establishing similar projects at their campuses. Third, a field trip allowed visits to civil society organizations in Chiang Mai to boost cooperation and connection development among young leaders, prominent organizations, and activists working on human rights and gender issues in Thailand.

For half a decade, I have been volunteering for a sustainable and inclusive community for everyone. Participating in the activities organized by the Young Pride Club has enriched my understanding of human rights violations, gender inequality, how these issues are interconnected, and how everyone can be a part of making changes. Also, the Young Pride Club connected me with youth across the country and globally to promote democracy and human rights.

My journey with YPC has been enriching. Starting as a participant, I progressed to co-running events and eventually leading my own, gaining valuable experience and opportunities to build my youth movement. My focus remained on promoting non-discrimination and preventing violence in schools, contributing to the positive future of young people in my region.

The way Young Pride Club ran the workshop, with all their knowledge and resources, empowered me to run my movement within my organization, CAREMAT Foundation. The workshop covered all dimensions of gender equality, including gender knowledge, attitudes, and case studies, which taught me not to discriminate and judge anyone. Thanks to Young Pride Club, I now have a deeper understanding of human rights.

I joined Young Pride Club in 2021 during a YTC workshop. I curated “เพียงคน” (Just Human), a social media page that uses a Thai dictionary structure to present facts about gender equality and advocate for non-discrimination. After the workshop, I continued running Just Human to educate and spread knowledge about gender equality. I am grateful to Young Pride Club for welcoming me into their community and giving me the opportunity to lead a movement in my own way.
