แม้ในปัจจุบันเราจะเริ่มเห็นหมุดหมายเชิงบวก แต่รายงานฉบับนี้จะชี้ให้เห็นช่องว่างขนาดใหญ่ ระหว่างความก้าวหน้าทางกฎหมายกับวิถีชีวิตจริงที่เยาวชนต้องเผชิญ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
- อุปสรรคเชิงโครงสร้างในระบบการศึกษา: การขาดกฎหมายรับรองอัตลักษณ์ทางเพศ ทำให้นักเรียนข้ามเพศต้องเผชิญกับการระบุเพศที่ไม่ตรงกับเจตจำนงและการตีตราในสถานศึกษา

- ความเหลื่อมล้ำที่ซ้อนทับ: เรื่องราวการต่อสู้ของเยาวชน LGBTIQ+ ในพื้นที่ห่างไกล ชุมชนชาติพันธุ์ และพื้นที่อนุรักษนิยมทางศาสนา ที่ต้องแบกรับแรงกดดันจากทั้งกฎระเบียบแบบทวิลักษณ์และกรอบวัฒนธรรมอันเข้มงวด
รายงานฉบับนี้ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงแค่การระบุปัญหา แต่คือ “ข้อเสนอแนะเชิงนโยบาย” ที่เชื่อมโยงกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนของสหประชาชาติ (SDGs) ทั้งในด้านการยกระดับคุณภาพการศึกษา (SDG 4) และการสร้างความเท่าเทียมระหว่างเพศ (SDG 5) เพื่อส่งสารถึงรัฐบาล ภาคการศึกษา
มากไปกว่านั้น รายงานฉบับนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการขับเคลื่อนระดับสากล โดยใช้ยื่นต่อองค์การสหประชาชาติ (UN) ภายใต้กรอบ “Call for Input: Report on the human right to education and the protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI)” ซึ่งริเริ่มโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญอิสระด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนบนฐานของวิถีทางเพศและอัตลักษณ์ทางเพศ เพื่อสะท้อนสถานการณ์จริงของเยาวชนไทยให้โลกได้รับรู้
และนี่ไม่ใช่ครั้งแรกที่ Young Pride Foundation ได้นำเสียงของเยาวชนไทยเข้าสู่เวทีระหว่างประเทศ เราได้มีโอกาสพบปะและหารือกับ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญอิสระด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน SOGI (IE SOGI) โดยตรงหลายครั้ง ในการประชุม ILGA Asia Conference ณ ประเทศเนปาล ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่สำคัญในการสะท้อนข้อกังวลของชุมชน LGBTIQ+ ไทยสู่กลไกสิทธิมนุษยชนสากล นอกจากนี้ Young Pride Foundation ยังได้จัดทำ จดหมายถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อเรียกร้องให้ประเทศไทยลงคะแนนสนับสนุนการต่ออายุวาระของ IE SOGI ในคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของเราในการผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยยืนหยัดเคียงข้างสิทธิมนุษยชนในเวทีโลก

- Silent Wounds: High rates of school bullying and violence cause serious mental health issues among youth.
- Overlapping Inequalities: The struggles of LGBTIQ+ youth in remote areas, ethnic communities, and religious schools, who face heavy pressure from strict gender norms and traditions.
This report does not just point out problems; it offers “policy recommendations” linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education (SDG 4) and Gender Equality (SDG 5) to send a clear message to the government and schools.
Moreover, this report is part of a global movement. It was submitted to the United Nations (UN) for the “Call for Input: Report on the human right to education and the protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI)” by an independent human rights expert, showing the real situation of Thai youth to the world.
This is not the first time Young Pride Foundation has brought those voices to the global stage. We have had the privilege of meeting directly with the UN Independent Expert on SOGI (IE SOGI) on multiple occasions at the ILGA Asia Conference in Nepal — a vital space for surfacing the concerns of Thailand’s LGBTIQ+ communities within international human rights mechanisms. Young Pride Foundation also submitted a formal letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, urging Thailand to vote in support of renewing the IE SOGI mandate at the UN Human Rights Council — a firm stand for Thailand’s commitment to human rights on the world stage.
